Boys Over Flowers Live-Action Adaptations (2001-2009)

I’m going to have to pick the various adaptations of Boys Over Flowers. I recommend this show to newcomers as a gateway into the Asian drama world because it can easily hook viewers and make them want to watch more dramas.

However, it is an overrated drama because it is constantly referenced in other dramas, and also the concept of reverse harem became a popular troupe in many shows I watch now. I mean there are other shows prior to this one that has a reverse harem concept but Boys Over Flowers became the leading example of it.  I’m not going to complain about this because I like many attractive male actors in one drama, but I am done talking about Boys Over Flowers.

Boys Over Flowers is based on Yoko Kamio’s shoujo manga, Hana Yori Dango. The basic premise of this series is poor girl gets bullied by a rich and popular guy who eventually falls in love with her. Also, the guys’ friends are there to support their relationship.
