Lyn’s Current Obsessions (2018 Winter Edition)

During winter break, I should have been working on my final project for my M.A. but rather than doing that, I ended up enjoying my break doing the things I wanted to do to relax. It also doesn’t help that I enjoy hanging out with my sister. She’s a huge distraction but the school semester started and so I’m back in the grinder.  However, I kind of wanted to write this post to discuss some of the things in my life that have been preoccupying me.

Nintendo Switch

I got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and all I’ve been doing is playing Smash and Overcooked. It’s a lot of fun especially when you can play with your friends online. I am not much a competitor, though. I kind of understand why my mom never bought me video games when I was younger because they can be very distracting. You can be so focused on a game that you lose track of time and then forget all the other important things you need to do. However, now that I am older, I know how to manage my time and do what I need to do before enjoying some rest and relaxation. (Okay, I lied. I do procrastinate a little bit.)

Note: I am on the last stage of Smash adventure mode. I am trying to complete the challenges and final bosses but I am having trouble since I am not a professional button smasher. Hopefully, I’ll be able to complete the game on my own or else I may need some help.

Tarot Cards

During the fall semester, my friend and I became highly interested in tarot cards after watching some videos about it on YouTube.  I got some tarot cards and lately, I’ve been practicing how to read the cards. Crystals

Along with tarot cards, I also have been reading about crystals and how they are used for spiritual healing. I actually bought some for myself and my friends.  My favorite crystal is the rose quartz which represents unconditional love.

Lipsticks

I have accumulated a collection of lipsticks in a variety of colors. When I’m bored, I would research lipstick colors, brands, and product composition on the Internet. When I was younger, I wasn’t much of a make-up person, but now that I am older, I enjoy wearing lipstick. Plus, it makes me look like my age, especially when I have this natural babyface.

Blogging

My blog kind of died during the fall semester because my life got busier. However, since I have more time now, I am trying to revive it to its former glory. As you can see, I have been more active with writing and interacting with other bloggers on social media. Hopefully, I can continue keeping this blog alive and for those of you who have been following me since the beginning, thanks for sticking around and continuing to read my posts. 🙂

And that’s all. The things that I am obsessed with even though I know I have other pressing matters to attend to. Hopefully, I can get back on track since it’s a new school semester.
