Rokka no Yuusha Characters Classified as the Seven Deadly Sins

Rokka no Yuusha (六花の勇者, Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers)

Light Novel Written By: Ishio Yamagata

Anime Directed By: Takeo Takahashi
While watching Rokka no Yuusha, I couldn’t help but categorize the main characters into the seven deadly sins. These characters are much more dynamic and versatile in which they don’t just represent negative traits, but I think it would be fun to see what they would be if I did put them into these labels. Each character emphasizes a certain sinful trait that adds to their uniqueness and likeability.
Adlet Mayer as Sloth

I was actually leaning towards the Pride attribute for Adlet, but I decided to go with Sloth. My reasoning is that Adlet Mayer’s desire to be “the strongest man in the world” wouldn’t have happened if his mother was still alive. When he was just a small child, Adlet didn’t train like most kids do, in hopes of being a Brave that will defeat the Demon Lord. Instead, Adlet lived his life as an innocent boy that helps his mother with chores and what not. Yet when the kyouma leader, Tgurneu, destroyed his village and killed his people, Adlet realizes how weak and useless he really was. Rather than training to protect his loved ones from the demons, he decided to ignore the problems that plague their land and live in a naive world where everything is okay. It is at this point in time when Adlet changes his ways and becomes a warrior who protects the things he loves.
Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra as Lust

This doesn’t come as a surprise as to why I would put Nachetanya as Lust. It isn’t because of her revealing outfit, but her ability to manipulate others into doing what she wants by changing her personality depending on who she is with. One way of manipulation is through seduction. I mean, she leans her head onto Adlet’s shoulder as a way for him to slowly trust her. Her flirtatious ways positioned her as the “waifu” type, which implies that she can never do wrong.

Fremy Speeddraw as Wrath

Fremy has so much angry and baggage that it is appropriate for her to be Wrath. First of all, she was born into the world as a half human and half kyouma. Fremy thought her demon mother truly loved her and she felt that she truly belonged in the kyouma world. Fremy devoted her life to Tgurneu and followed his orders, but when she failed to kill Chamo, her mother and the rest of the demon world considered her useless and tried to kill her. As a result, Fremy vowed vengeance and made it her goal to kill the Demon Lord.
Goldof Auora as Envy

Goldof Auora gets jealous of any man that comes near Nachetanya, especially Adlet. Goldof likes Nachetanya and he is jealous of the close bond between Nachetanya and Adlet. His feelings are obvious because he wears his heart on his sleeve. Goldof would do anything to protect Nachentanya to the extent of speaking ill about Adlet to her.

Chamo Rosso as Gluttony

Chamo is the Saint of the Swamp. It’s interesting how her power comes from her stomach as she vomits out her pets to do her bidding. Chamo’s diet is different from a normal human. She eats animals or kyouma that she finds interesting and used the creatures she ate as a way to form her swamp pets. Chamo’s power could actually kill a person; hence, she must always be under supervision to prevent any accidental deaths. I would consider Chamo a glutton because of her consumption of creatures, which allows her to create pets that grant her, even more, power. In addition, Chamo seems obsessed with killing, especially Fremy, since they have “beef” against each other, and she uses her gut feelings to make decisions as oppose to thinking logically; as a result, her rash decision-making causes problems.
Mora Chester as Pride

Mora Chester is known as the Saint of the Mountain and she is the head of the “Temple of the Whole World,” which is in charge of watching over all the Saints. We associate the mountain with words like “all mighty,” “strength,” and “stability.” Hence, these attributes of a mountain make Mora an ideal candidate for Pride. She places herself in the leadership position of the Braves in the series, implying that she has to deal with so much pressure in figuring out who the imposter is. Furthermore, it can be hinted that she considers herself a role model and an authoritative figure that people look up to, which gives her a sense of pride.
Hans Humpty as Greed

Hans gets paid as an assassin. In fact, he wasn’t going to do this Brave job unless the king pays him. Hence, Hans is in it for the money and not for the protection of the human race.

Like I said before, this is just a fun post I created in imagining the Rokka no Yuusha characters as the seven deadly sins. That being said, if you have an suggestions or changes that you would make to these descriptions, let me know in the comments.

Haven’t watched yet but the person you have as gluttony (her ability) sounds really interesting

Hmmm.. if we were to cosplay, I think you would be her because you are a “fourteen” year-old.

I’ve sifted through what, 50+ Rokka posts and haven’t got sick of a single one of them yet.
Interesting set up you’ve got going on here, it was quite fun to read! Especially what you had to say about Nachetanya, Fremy, Chamo, and Mora (okay, so basically all of them). Call me a glutton, but I could read this lore tie-in stuff all day, every day XD

Ah yes! I noticed this while I was watching last summer. I fully agree with the categorization here. Is it just me or are Greed characters always kind of awesome? (Ban from Seven Deadly Sins, Hans here, Greed from FMAB) Other series like Attack on Titan and Durarara also have characters that represent Greed.

Oh I’m glad I’m not the only one. Yeah, the characters that represent Greed are indeed awesome. I wonder why they are though? xD

Haha! Maybe greed is just the most relatable sin? or maybe because greed is always represented by a badass 🙂

I’d never heard of this anime until I read this post. This is a very interesting and cool way to look at characters, I think I’ll have to add this to my list.

You should definitely watch it. It’s a good one in my opinion. I do wish they make a second season though.
