What Happen in Volume 5 of Father, I Don’t Want This Marriage?

In this volume, Lady Juvelian attends Princess Beatrice’s coming-of-age ceremony and banquet. Unknowingly, her ex-boyfriend, Mikhail, causes a ruckus for Lady Juvelian and Princess Beatrice, resulting in the Crown Prince rescuing them. Eventually, Lady Juvelian realizes that the Crown Prince is Max. Lady Juvelian feels betrayed by the revelation, but the two eventually sort out their differences and decide to become a real couple.
Meanwhile, Duke Floyen is in a power struggle with the Emperor. The Emperor uses Circe’s ring to control Duke Floyen’s entire body. Duke Floyen is trying to figure out a way to escape this suffering. He is willing to risk his own life to protect his daughter, Juvelian, from this danger.
Duke Floyen is A Beloved Father & Nobleman

Although Max and Juvelian are the main characters of this story and their romance is the center of attention, this volume explores the secrets of Duke Floyen and his familial bond with Lady Juvelian.
In the first volume, Lady Juvelian believes that her father hates her because he always remains cold and distant towards her. In her past life, she was killed by her father’s hand. However, in this volume, it is revealed that Duke Floyen was distant towards her because he didn’t want the blood on him to frighten her. He also shows his care for her by defending her daughter from the disgraceful Hessen household.
Duke Floyen is also aware of Lady Juvelian’s past life. Due to a scandal, she was sentenced to death. Duke Floyen is trying to prevent her death in this new life. There are still a few mysteries that need to be uncovered in the later volumes. For now, Duke Floyen knows more about the past than what Lady Juvelian knows about.
The Revelation Scene of Max’s True Identity Was Disappointing

The only downside to this volume is the pacing of Lady Juvelian and Max’s relationship. One of the core issues in their relationship is that Lady Juvelian is unaware of Max’s true identity. She explicitly shows disgust against the Crown Prince, but when she realizes that Max is the Crown Prince, she doesn’t really see it as a betrayal. Yes, she was disappointed that he kept it a secret, but she got over it fairly quickly.
It would have been nice if there had been more emotional betrayal and tension between the couple. Emotional tension would have made an impact on the readers. The fact that she got over it quickly makes their relationship appear superficial, making the build-up to their relationship a letdown. It also makes the characters feel one-dimensional.
The fifth volume of Father, I Don’t Want This Marriage is a turning point for the series. Readers learn more about Duke Floyen’s personality and his involvement in Lady Juvelian’s past life. In this volume, Lady Juvelian discovers Max’s true identity, beginning a new chapter in their love story. I’m looking forward to the next volume as it seems the story is quickly reaching its climactic end.
Father, I Don’t Want This Marriage Vol 5 was released on October 28, 2025. You can buy this volume at your local bookstores near you or online.
