LynLynSays’ Love Songs: “Chances” By Backstreet Boys

There are moments in our lives when we are given opportunities to make meaningful connections with people we just met. In those moments, we think of all the possibilities that could happen when we interact with that person. It’s a moment with endless possibilities but it is also a bit overwhelming to think about.

I like to romanticize fated encounters because they rarely happen in real life. In my own fantasy world, I like to believe that everyone has a soulmate that we encounter in our lifetimes but it’s really up to us whether or not we do something about it. The universe gives you the offer, but it’s up to you whether to make a move or not.

In Backstreet Boys’ “Chances,” they sing about the “what-ifs” and the chance encounters you have in meeting “the love of your life.”

 Backstreet Boys’ “Chances”

What are the chances that we’d end up dancing?
Like two in a million, like once in a life
That I could have found you, put my arms around you
Like two in a million, like once in a life
What are the chances?
