Wishes

I don’t believe in wishes coming true.

No genies.

No fairy godmothers.

No wishes upon stars.

Nor does the time 11:11, hold any mystic power.

I don’t believe in the wishbone theory.

The blowing of a dandelion doesn’t blossom a romance.

Nor does any eyelash wishes.

And throwing a penny in a wishing well won’t bring happiness.

What about a birthday candle?

They said if you blow out a candle and make a wish, it will come true.

I didn’t blow out any candles on my birthday.

Yet magically my wish came true.

The only birthday wish I wanted came true.

And all it took was hope.
