I already mentioned one of my favorites on a previous Asian drama challenge post. So I will provide you all with another favorite of mine, Mei-chan no Shitsuji.

This live-action drama is based on a Japanese shoujo manga of the same name, which I haven’t read yet (and I probably won’t because I’m satisfied watching the drama).

Mei-chan no Shitsuji is about rich girls going to an academy where they each have their own butler who serves as a knight in shining armor too.

It’s ridiculously entertaining. Yes, it has the overexaggerated, cheesy acting, but I did enjoy the humor. Also, Hiro Mizushima is my favorite Japanese actor. I think his role as a butler in this drama prepared him for Sebastian Michaelis in Black Butler (or at least tried to).

  1. Did you say Sebastian? Do you mean to say there’s a Black Butler live-action??
