Medieval Otaku Nominated Me For The Sunshine Award

So the final nomination for the Sunshine Award was given to me by Medieval Otaku. Let’s be honest, Medieval Otaku. Did I get this award just because I followed you within the time span of an hour when you started following me? Just kidding, you don’t need to answer that. I admit even though I didn’t officially follow them until like two days ago, I did read some of this blogger’s stuff before and liked it. Medieval Otaku, you are a cool blogger. Thanks for the nomination.

Before I get to Medieval Otaku‘s questions, I would like to address this blogger’s blogroll. On the side of their website, you will see a variety of categories that each include a list of bloggers. While scrolling through it, I realized that I don’t fit in a specific category. My blog does contain “reviews” on anime, manga, novels, and movies, but it also has a personal side to it too. I guess you could say that my blog is all over the place. If it is, what would you label my blog as? This is just a thought I came up with as I was reading through Medieval Otaku’s Sunshine Award post.

Okay, I’m done rambling. Now it is time to answer some questions!

Medieval Otaku’s Questions:

  • Does any anime remind you of your favorite author’s books?

I can’t recall any from the top of my head. However, I do consider Genji to be the first harem man. Does that count?

  • Who is your favorite philosopher?

Socrates. I think his method of questioning, the Socratic Method, allowed people to have open discussion and provided insight and perspectives on certain topics and matters. Personally, I think his humble nature when it comes to obtaining knowledge deserves a lot of respect. My favorite quotes are when Socrates proclaims that he “knows nothing.”

True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.

  • What is your favorite anime?

My favorite anime is Clannad. The emotional roller coaster it takes you… @_@

  • Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging so that I can improve my writing abilities. I also have a lot of opinions on things that I rather say through writing as oppose to talking to people and expecting them to listen. I mean, my friends and I have different tastes on things. With blogging, I get to engage in discussion with people who have similar interests and also broaden my perspective on things.

  • What’s your favorite hobby?

I like to collect girly flower/bow headbands and masquerade masks. I don’t have a lot of hobbies aside from that and like reading, writing, and blogging. Oh, I also like to memorize rap lyrics to songs.

Once again, thank you Medieval Otaku for the nomination! I greatly appreciate it. By the way, Medieval Otaku, you are the last nomination I will accept for the Sunshine Award. So feel special! 😛

  1. Naw, I had already decided to give the award to you for your articles on UnimeTV–though, I do appreciate you following my blog. 🙂

Socrates is a good choice; though, we all know that Aristotle is the greatest genius of the three Athenian philosophers. 😛 Since you like Socrates, have you heard of Xenophon’s Memorabilia? Xenophon was also a student of Socrates and presents him as a much more straightforward man than Plato does. Most people ignore Xenophon’s Socrates, but it’s interesting to compare his version of the philosopher to the more well known depiction by Plato.

    • Haha thanks for reading those articles on Unime’s blog. I tend to talk about different things here compared to there, but now you can get both of best worlds 😛

I haven’t heard of Xenophon’s Memorabilia. It sounds interesting though. And yes Aristotle is the best out of three. 😛
